Restaurant & Bar in the Ofenhaus
Gastronomy in an industrial monument.
A creative quarter with gastronomy has been created on the site of a former gasworks. SODA GROUP has taken over the kitchen planning for the restaurant and bar.
Augsburg – In the Augsburg district of Oberhausen there is an eight-hectare site with an industrial monument that is unique in Bavaria: the buildings of the former gasworks, built over 100 years ago, survived the Second World War unscathed and have been converted into a cultural and creative quarter in recent years.
Various artists have found their place there and the Augsburg State Theatre has moved in with its Brecht stage. In such a special quarter, culinary creativity should not be missing. On the ground floor of the old Ofenhaus, where the main entrance to the Brechtbühne is located, along with the cloakroom and box office, the “Restaurant & Bar im Ofenhaus” offers seasonal cuisine with a strong focus on regional produce.
SODA GROUP has ensured that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes of the restaurant: with a kitchen planning that meets the special requirements of a theatre gastronomy in general and those of the Ofenhaus restaurant concept in particular. This also includes two bar counters on the ground floor and the upper floor.
The dining room, kitchen, storage and social rooms of the à la carte restaurant extend over almost the entire ground floor. The lounge just inside the entrance serves quick and light meals that can be eaten before going to the theatre or as an aperitif.
